Patches, one of our dogs from long ago. He showed up one day as a stray, which is what happens when you live in the country. We kept him, of course. He was a big, goofy, gentle guy.

Those special animals that share our lives leave a hole when they're gone, as do people when they've passed on. The affection you've had for this dog is apparent, just by seeing the painting. Somehow, it comes out. It's amazing to me when that happens.

Thanks, Diana. We're so deeply in love with the little old beagle mutt we have now, I shudder to think about when he's gone. I'm definitely a dog person--can't remember a time in my life when I didn't have one.

This is a very strong painting. sound composition, nice sense of weight and personality on that dog.
