The Daily Paintings of Don Gray
I really like your loose, painterly style. Great work!Tom Brownhttp://tombrownfineart.blogspot.com/
Great!! Love the monochromatic quality, particularly when artists tend to be so absorbed by the excitement of color, to deliberately use a limited palette is wonderfully refreshing and soothing. Also, the long hay laid down there reminds me of many Summers on the farms! Love it!
Thanks, Tom. Coming from a master of loose and painterly that's a fine compliment.
Jeanne, I appreciate your thoughts. I love rich color as well, but it's fun to explore a limited range sometimes.
This pine cone on the dry grass is amazing. Gives me a peaceful feeling. I feel as though I've stopped mid hike to appreciate the beauty of this object.Happy New Year, Don.
Happy New Year to you, Silvina.A stop mid-hike to appreciate was exactly what happened. I was walking through a heavily logged-over area and feeling pretty uninspired until I "micro-focused" on this wonderful little pine cone.
