Sprinklers

Oil on board, 5" x 7"
$125.00 + $6.00 shipping in US.
SOLD

It has been unseasonably warm here lately, with temperatures into the nineties. Although snowpack in the mountains is high, there has not been much rain and the fields will dry quickly without irrigation. (I sound like some old farmer.)

Don,
Today's painting of the sprinkler was especially poignant to me. Dad, Lenn Holman, worked for Courtright Irrigation when he moved our family over to La Grande, and many Sunday afternoons were spent driving around the valley showing us new set-ups.

This is near the time when Dad passed away so seeing this particular one this morning was quite moving. Unfortunately sentiment and salary are not always equal, so I will enjoy your painting from the computer screen! Thanks for the daily dose of wonderful art,
Linda Engle

Linda, thanks so much for your note. I'm glad if this painting recalls happy memories for you, though I know it's sad at the same time.

I saw a lot of sprinklers in action on my recent road trip south (during that heat wave), and I wondered what they'd look like in paint.

Now I guess I don't have to do one myself! :)

Nicely done, Mr. Gray.
