I love this design and your colour choices Don. The other day I was checking out some of your earlier abstracts (someone mentioned the 'contemporary paintings' site on your blog. It is so satisfying playing around with shapes like that. Once you have decided the painting almost (almost but not quite!!) paints itself.

I really don't make a distinction between my abstract and realist paintings. The same principles are at work in both. I see a strong awareness of abstract qualities in your own work.

This painting really appeals to me and makes me think of Wayne Thiebauds cake paintings which I just adore! Nice peaceful, curvy composition too.
