Don, You've done a wonderful job with this. I love the colors in the water and that beach. Also, that wave in the background is magical. Well done. I lived in Hawaii for six years, and when I see something like this it just brings it all back.

Hi Bill, good to hear from you. Thanks for the compliment--I'm pleased that the painting created that response for you.

Beautiful. Must be from your So. Cal days.
Especially like the sky reflected in the lower left.

I always love your work with water. You have such a wonderful sense of colors when it comes to water.

Thanks, Silvina. You're right, it's Del Mar beach, though I painted it in Oregon. I take photos
of beachwalkers as unobtrusively as possible. Something about this woman's hat and style seemed so evocative of SoCal culture.

Thanks, Mike. The dog was very happy. Don't know about the North Carolina coast where you are, but in southern California there are several stretches of beach where dogs are allowed off-leash. They play like small children--overjoyed to run and splash through the water and meet other dogs. Fights are very rare, they're just having too much fun.

the drawing in that is superb. You made the colors glow in a subtle way instead of ramping up the purple which always feels false to me.
Beautiful.
