I did a double-take the other day as I drove past this building that used to sit alongside a railroad siding. The tracks are long gone, but on the freight dock sat this old school chair, minus the desk part. I loved the incongruous nature of the scene, and the suggestion of a story unknown to me.

I also loved that multi-colored tin roof, and the beautiful red/green complementary colors of wall and grass. Yes, that's right--that's green grass down there...and I didn't fake it!

do places like these still exist? the lighting is perfectly caught for the subject matter and that tin roof just smacks of the heat of the sun. r.

Really nice painting. I love the colors in the tin roof and the beautiful red on the building. I've been enjoying the green grass lately too.

You have perfectly captured Spring in Eastern Oregon. Don this is classic! Beautiful work.

It still exists here, Rahina. My town is caught in a bit of a time warp. Thanks for the nice note.

Thanks very much Dianna (Sunrise Sister.)

Hi Leah--thnks a lot. Yes, it's nice to see the green pushing up and trees budding out. Must be about time for a big snowstorm. (What a pessimist, eh?)

Katherine, you're such a positive spirit! Thanks for the encouragement.

This is great! Love the rusty roof and the chair for scale. Makes me feel more relaxed just looking at this painting!

Wow! I love this one, Don!

The whole painting is picture perfect.

I agree, the metal roof looks great but I really love the color of the building itself. A rich ruby red. Just gorgeous!

Really good job capturing the shadows underneath the porch too. It makes the painting have a lot of depth.

What's not to love about this one?

Beautiful painting, Don. I especially love the roof. Hurray for green grass! Spring is finally here (even in Denver!)

Thanks so much, Cheryl. We know we're moving into spring when the grass is green in the mile high city!
