Canola Field

Oil on board, 5" x 7"
$125 plus $6 shipping in U.S.
SOLD

While searching for subjects for my upcoming mural, I roamed the rolling farmlands near Pendleton, Oregon. Deep green oceans of early summer wheat waved and rippled in the wind. Dust devils spiraled madly across brown fallow fields, whipping fine particles into the air like smoke. Topping a gentle rise, I was shocked to see the horizon suddenly filled by this field of brilliant yellow.

What wonderful energy and great feel of summer you captured here Don! Mustard fields can be so mesmerizing. I don't know how you punch in so much info in small format you rock!

this reminds me of a childhood memory, sitting on the handlebars of my father's bike and the yellow of the mustard field was ingrained on that 2 year old brain forever....thank you for painting and sharing this. r.

Rahina, thanks for sharing that story. It delights me that the painting evoked that memory for you. Your own paintings are looking good!

Erika mentioned how much you pack into a small format. Looking at it here, I would swear it is a much larger canvas!

I feel the movement of the wind picking up, and the colors are abslutely wonderful!
