If you'll be in northeast Oregon this weekend, come on over to the studio! I will be participating in the Grande Ronde Open Studio Tour on the 19th and 20th. My hangout is on the top floor of the Union County Museum in downtown Union, Oregon, 331 S. Main Street (catty-corner from the post office.) Use the Center Street entrance on the NE corner of the building. Hours are 10-5 Saturday and Noon-5 Sunday. I'll put some signs out. Hope to see you there!

For information on the tour, call Janet Dodson at Union County Tourism: 1-800-848-9969, or email her at visitlg@eoni.com.

Good luck and enjoy yourself Don. But one thing is puzzling me - how do you keep the darn floor so clean?

Thanks for the peek into your studio- very cool!

Hi Don.. you have a studio that isn't in your home? Impressive! But the quality of your paintings warrants that luxury to be sure. I imagine your stop on the studio trail will be one of the event's highlights. Viewing the recent paintings here confirms in my mind the fact that OR has at least one very talented man getting paint to the canvas... well done indeed.

This is a shot from last year's open house, after I threw a mop over it. Believe me, Sheila, it's nowhere near this clean the rest of the year!

Hi Deborah--thanks. I love this space, it has good vibes and I'm very lucky to have it.

Hi Bill, thanks for paying me a virtual studio visit, and for the compliments. I really like having a studio away from home. It helps me think of myself as "going to work," like everybody else.

Your studio is so spacious and beautiful. Mine looks like a closet compared to yours. Good luck with the tour...wished I could go...but it's toooooo far away.

I so enjoy your paintings!

Great vibes for the opening night Don!

Thanks so much, Dawn, I enjoy your work as well. I've worked in plenty of cubbyhole studios myself. I love this studio--could never have it without the generosity of the museum folks charging affordable rent!

Don!

I LOVE that long bench off to the left!

It looks like something you'd find in a church!

Super cool! I want one!!

Hi Diane--thanks for the well wishes! The event was good--had a number of sales and met up with old and new friends.

Hi Dean--good to hear from you. Yeah, it is a cool bench. I think it might have been in a church at one time--not sure how/when it ended up in this place. It's not very comfortable, though. Mostly it gets used to prop my dailies against the backrest while they dry. Actually, none of the chairs in my studio are overly comfortable...that's deliberate, though--I know what would happen if I had an overstuffed recliner! :)
