Brenda got a great deal on three chairs that once graced a hospital waiting room--five bucks apiece. She plans to re-upholster them, and there's room in the studio to do that. So here they are...in my studio.
I have always resisted having comfortable chairs in the studio. I know myself too well. I fear the embarrassment of having someone visit my workplace and discover me snoring away in some cushy recliner.
Recliners they're not, but still, these chairs are pretty comfy. There's one facing my painting wall now, at a nice viewing distance. And for the first time, I can study a work in progress in complete comfort. Lately I've been studying and studying.
Call before you visit...wouldn't want to break my concentration.

Funny! I have an uncomfotable metal stool to sit on about 10 ft in front of my easel, which doesn't permit napping!
Yeah Deborah, you know what I mean! I'm counting on Winslow (my dog) to alert me if anyone is coming, so I can leap up and grab a brush.
you've caught the comfiness for sure! love the gentle light. your post made me laugh... i have a large recliner filled with feathers and light beige in colour in my art room... but i chose to sit on a chair in front of the window... but you have given me ideas:)

Don I like this lonely chair - which also looks like a quite self assured person (I think the two things can go together). This is the kind of painting that stays in the mind throughout the day and I've been happy to come back and look at it several times.
You obviously have more self-discipline than I do, Rahina, if you can avoid that feather recliner! Thanks for your note.
