This sage-like plant is commonly called Rabbitbrush here in Oregon. But in the southwest it goes by the Spanish name "Chamisa." I like the Spanish...sounds more exotic (to me, anyway.) I notice it tends to grow best at the edges of roadways, or anywhere the soil has been disturbed.

I've been away from the blog awhile. We had some great Thanksgiving time with family that extended over the weekend. I hope everyone had a memorable holiday.
