Hi Don really like these haylots, they seem perfect for the experience of artificially framing reality as their edges reflect the sides of the painting. Also like them for them nearly being like buildings, they are same shape and scale but not buildings. Love the way you have painted them so poetically, and in watercolour!
Hi Simon...yes, you've hit on exactly what interests me about them. With their simple forms I can explore an almost minimalist kind of abstraction, while remaining firmly within reality. And I do think of them like architecture. By the way, I've seen your architectural watercolors and they are phenomenal!
