The Daily Paintings of Don Gray
it is fascinating to see how these paintings from your trip have a totally different light from those of your own home town, and how you have the ability to totally absorb this in your paint. made me think about the factors that influence us and how a change in environment affects the choices in our paintings.
Yes, light and environment are hugely influential, aren't they, Rahina? I don't know how that comes to be reflected in an artist's work, but it is. Of course color shifts in the palette are part of it, but it seems there's more to it than that; perhaps it's the internalizing of a place.
What a beautiful and dramatic painting! I also think you've done a great job of capturing the unique lighting and feeling of your location.
This is very well done! I love the use of color and the movement you captured is wonderful. Have you considered doing this BIG? It would be amazing!
impressive. Another great work.
