North to Alaska

Oil on board, 5" x 7"
$125 plus $6 shipping in U.S.
SOLD

From bluffs near Honolua Bay, looking north across the vast ocean. It was mind-boggling to think that the nearest land in this direction would probably be the Aleutian Islands off Alaska, maybe 2500 miles away.

I'm really looking hard, but I fail to see any sign of an iceberg on the horizon...

Where did you get such thoughts in lovely Hawaii???

Your painting is soothing and beautiful.

Some people feel a sort of phobia about being out there so far away from anything else. Hawaii is outstanding (in its ocean), over 3000 miles from a continent and 2000 from another island. No wonder your little bush on the bluff looks so lonely.

Hi Susan--I couldn't see any polar bears either. :^} Thanks for your thoughts.

I guess that's what they call "island fever," isn't it, Sam? I don't know, it might affect me that way over time too. I'd like to have a chance to find out, though.

When you think about it, we're all living on islands, aren't we? It's just a matter of size.

It's only an island when you're in the water ;) ....sorry...the warmer weather brings out the "Jaws" in me lol Sure enjoying all the island paintings Don, look forward to them each day.
