The lilacs have come on a little late this year, probably due to the cool, wet spring we're having. This beautiful old tree finally decided to show off.
A reminder to anyone in the region: my "Heaven and Earth" exhibition opens Friday, June 4th with a reception beginning at 4:00 in the Memorial Union Building (large clock tower) at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. It's a large show, with work on three floors of the building. Come on by and say hello.
All the best for the show Don. It's a great opportunity to get all those wonderful pieces together and speaking to each other!
I wish I could come to your exhibition, but it would be a bit of a drive from Maine. Three floors of art? I could very happily spend some time there...
Best of luck!
This is so lovely, I just had to stop by to comment! Reminds me of so many things I love about summer. Have a wonderful show!!!
Hi Don!... Picked up your comment on Todd's site...Smack on!
Love your site.... the colour and composition! Wonderful work!
Great minds think alike ... or nothin's new in the world of Art. Take your pick. I've been on a "lilac path" as well!
Ain't Spring sweet?
I love lilacs - how lucky that yours are still blooming! Good luck with your exhibit.
wishing you all the best for the show; love those flowers in this painting: their natural state and vibrant colours contrast beautifully with the angular house.
Well Susan, since you and Martine are having such a miserable time there in Maine, maybe a road trip to Walla Walla would be just the ticket. :^}
Thanks a bunch for the well-wishes, Sheila!
Debbi--thanks for the visit and encouragement--very appreciated!
You've really been painting up the lilacs, Bruce! I like the variety of approaches you took to the subject. You're so right--spring is sweet. Thanks for the supportive comments!
Claire--thank you very much!
Thanks for that, Rahina--you're always so supportive.
Welcome and thanks, Balogh!
And a beautiful show it was! Love your lilacs Don.
Thank you, Katherine!
