It's looking pretty wintry around here in Oregon lately, so I'm warming things up a bit with today's post from my archive. I did this little plein air painting on a warm fall day up on the Santa Rosa Plateau, a natural reserve near our previous home in southern California. The Plateau was a great escape--8000 acres of rolling prairie, dotted with huge granite boulders and stands of Engelmann Oak and Sycamore. These two trees looked as if they were dancing a waltz.

OOOhhh, I like this. The title is enough to bring a smile to my face, but the light and subject are great too.

Nice work.
