These trees line a stream at the edge of our property near Cove, Oregon. Some are old and really in need of pruning, but I love the whiteness of the limbs that have lost their bark. Once the leaves have fallen, the structure is starkly revealed--a tangled architecture.

The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.

Wonderful painting. With your ever heartfelt brushstrokes you perfectly translated the rawness and beauty of the trees. Love the words from Nelson Henderson and also the profund poetry of Mary Oliver, thanks Don for sharing.

I appreciate your words, Rahina--thank you. At least your plants probably aren't the size of trees. :^)
