A little painting of my favorite stream, done mostly from memory.
No posts for awhile, as I leave tomorrow for a week of printmaking at Goathead Press, in Tieton, Washington. Goathead was founded by well-known Seattle artists Bob and Fay Jones. I'm excited and honored to be asked to work with them. I'll be learning to do etching--something I've never done before--so this will be very experimental. Hopefully I won't totally embarass myself.
Tieton (pronounced Tie-uh-tun) is a sleepy little agricultural town set in a lovely high valley on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Range. Several years ago my longtime friend, Seattle book designer/publisher Ed Marquand, bought a group of huge, empty apple warehouses there, and he and his partners have been busily converting them into what they call "Mighty Tieton". Their goal is "...to help revitalize the economy of the town and region by combining creative and professional skills, and connecting with local resources to build successful businesses involving art, design, hospitality, and recreation".

what a wonderful colour memory you have Don! I hope you have an enjoyable experience learning etching in this artistic town Teiton:)
Love the paint application style here Don. It's a bit different from your usual style? Have a great workshop. Yes, I have always been interested in etching too but never tried it.
