Hmm...think I said enough about this subject in Monday's post, so I'll just shut up.

Interesting play between the two pieces. I enjoyed reading your post on Monday, and those last words: "In the painting I'm not passing judgement on this phenomenon--just observing it". Keen eye of the soul.
Great pieces Don, humble & playful, which tell a lot about the man.

One wonders what this world is coming to with all the marketing. Nice to see someone bring up insightful messages and of course, suburb technique with one's art.

Pierre, what a great thing to say--it means a lot to me. Thank you for all your encouragement and thoughtfulness.

Thanks and welcome to my blog, Susan.

I may like the "back" view of your humble paper bag more than the front... and I liked the front a lot.
Beauty and mystery they're everywhere, aren't they. You just have to really look.

Hi Shirley--thanks. That's so true about beauty and mystery being everywhere. One challenge of representational work is that many viewers think it's all about the subject and never get beyond that. All good painting is about so much more than just what is depicted.
