We slipped away for a long weekend to visit family in Portland, so I'm just getting back up to speed with painting. It has been a beautiful fall here, but the cold nights lately are a reminder that autumn's colors will soon be gone. I spent yesterday soaking it all in along the Grande Ronde River--a gentle stream this time of year.

a few days of being with that gorgeous face has put a skip in your palette: this painting is stunning! and the title (i've heard Louis Armstrong sing this) is so fitting for this up beat painting.

Hi Rahina, thanks a lot. That little boy sure puts a skip in my step, if not my palette. I thought of the great Louis Armstrong too, when I titled this.
