I took some photos of this regal fellow a couple months back at the Portland Zoo, where we celebrated our grandson's first birthday. You'd think I'd be sick of painting portraits after just finishing 38 of them. Maybe it's just human portraits I'm tired of--this lion was actually a lot of fun to paint.
Here's the real royalty, though--His Majesty King Grayson:
