Pomegranates are in season now. They're one of my wife's favorite fruits (or are they a berry?), so a trip to the market usually means bringing two or three home. I like them too, but don't have the patience to pick the good stuff away from all the rind. I do love the look of them though, and had great fun painting these.
Don, this was a nice take on the pomegranates. Don't know if Brenda ever did this, but in grade school, lots of us would keep one in our desk and pick out a few seeds all through the day. One could last a week! You can also "unwrap" them in a bowl of water, so it's easier to separate the seeds from the membrane.
Thanks for the bowl of water tip, Anne--I'll pass it on to Brenda. That might even make me a pomegranate eater!
