This country can look awfully stark and severe in the wintertime, but it is also, in its own way, spectacular. Winslow loves to get out and snuffle through the snow, but his short hair doesn't provide too much insulation. Before long he's happy to jump back in the warm truck.
This will probably be my last post until after Christmas, as we'll be spending next week in Portland with family and I'll be taking a break from painting. Have a great Christmas holiday, everyone.

This is lovely, Don. I'm amazed how you work so well in both oil and watercolor.
Have a lovely Christmas with your family. I'll look forward to seeing what wonderful paintings you do in 2013!
Beautiful. I feel the chill and hear the snow squeak beneath my feet. Thanks for sharing your wonderful work with us through the year. Merry Christmas to your family.

always wonderful to see your paintings and unfortunately facebook has taken over from blogging! I hope to see your work on facebook too one day soon Don.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful New Year :)
You do a beautiful job with your snow paintings! They've inspired me to get back into landscapes!
A belated thanks for the well wishes, Diana...Happy New Year and Happy painting!
Hope you had a great Christmas, Anne. Warm wishes for a great New Year.
Hi Rahina, thanks. Yes, so true that Facebook has co-opted the blog world. So goes technology. I'm trying to work up the nerve (or desire) to dive into Facebook. Happy 2013!
A nice compliment, Lori--thanks. Happy painting!
