One from the archives today. The clouds are aglow as the valley falls into the shadow of evening.

I've added some new paintings on the aerial landscape theme to my contemporary blog. See them here:

I love this aerial painting - it reminds me of an exercise I did in my workshop today - painting with only orange, blue and white. Did you use a limited palette for this? It's great.

"Valley Sundown" is stunning. Those warm and cool sky colors simply glow!

Hi Sarah--thanks. To paraphrase a saying: this painting is what happened while I made other plans. I was going to make it very colorful. As the piece developed, it seemed to tell me that it needed limited color. So once again I re-learned the lesson that it's important to "listen" to the painting and be willing to override preconceived notions.

Thanks a lot for those thoughts, Diana!
