"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn."

~ John Muir

Hi Don,

Nice work! The piece captures the feeling of that landscape.

Is this an area between Union and Baker around Telocaset? It looks very familiar to me. I spent sometime there when we pastured our horses out that way.

Thanks, Rick. This is at the Squaw Creek Overlook, on the pass between La Grande and Pendleton. The Oregon Trail is only about 100 yards from the scene.

That was my second guess. I'm quite familiar with that pass as I drove it every morning for a job while attending Eastern. You can tell how long it's been since I've been around La Grande by my guesses.
