Time in the studio has been focused on the ongoing mural design project. I plan to post images of it at a later date.
Meanwhile, here's a fairly large painting that dates back to 1990 (how can that be 24 years ago!?) At the time much of my work centered on vessel forms as a theme. I used the term "vessel" to describe them because it implied both a container and a vehicle for a journey. I thought of them as stand-ins for the human; and the vessel's very nature--made of earth but formed by hand and mind--seemed a potent metaphor for our symbiotic relationship to the natural world.
