Hi Don,
Congratulations on a great show. My personal favorite--though they're all wonderful paintings--is the far right seascape in the line of four. Actually, I love that one and the misty one around the corner, as well as, the big surf work.
I hate doing this and always try not to, but...I would really love to see my aforementioned favorite on a much larger format. It's so beautiful and evocative, in my always humble opinion, a more grand canvas would allow viewers to be enveloped by the piece. I want to "be in that painting", not on the outside. Only a much larger canvas would allow those of us with limited imaginations to become part of it. Sorry for bothering you with this unsolicited "suggestion", Don.
I just feel like you really done something extra-special here and I'd love to see it in a museum someday, and huge.
I'll shut-up now. Have a great evening.
Sincerely,
Gary.

Hi Gary--you read my mind! You're talking to an old muralist, here. I love to work large scale, and agree about the "presence" of a big piece enveloping the viewer. It would be fun to do some really large pieces on the ocean theme--maybe 7 or 8 feet square. Of course the issue is that unless they sell like hotcakes you have to figure out how to handle and store them. They create their own set of problems. I already have a dozen or so large paintings in storage right now. Nonetheless, I may say the heck with practicality and do some more anyway! Thanks for your very kind thoughts and suggestions--take care!

Hi Don,
You're right about the big works. I'd love to do only large portraits and anything else which strikes my fancy, but the cost of large canvases here is prohibitive. That is, unless the painting is already spoken for. Wouldn't that be nice! It's the price one pays for living here...no pun intended.
Have a nice weekend.
Sincerely,
Gary.

Good morning Don!... I drop in on you occasionally and always come away inspired... and encouraged that "some" of us still paint for the right reasons... and are content to follow our own passion and search for new visions.

Bravo! A stellar show that fully demonstrates your mastery!

Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce

What a mesmerizing collection, Don - with an energy both subtle and bold. Wish I could have experienced your show. I trust it was a fabulous success.
