You'll probably be seeing quite a few coastal paintings for awhile. We are moving full-circle after 13 years, back to northeast Oregon. I look forward to the move, but we're going to sorely miss family and friends here in California, as well as our many favorite places, especially the ocean. I've been trying to get my "fix" of the coast before we leave. The other day I enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Torrey Pines State Reserve, near San Diego--a natural set-aside that is one of the loveliest spots on the southern coastline. Chaparral and native pines hug the steep-walled ravines that lead down to the gleaming water.

The light on this one is stunning. Nice twisty tree : )
Mine is on hold for the time being.

Don, the last time I visited Oregon I spent some time at the beach there. I like their beaches better than California's (some people may think that's sacrilegious). There are beautiful, pale, soft sandy dunes with long willowy grasses. I was mesmerized. And the waves don't knock you on your butt!

Thanks, Silvina.

I love the Oregon coast too--it's spectacular. But where we'll be living is about 400 miles from the ocean, as opposed to about 25 here. So likely a lot fewer visits.

That'll just make it all the more precious, right?

Mountains, lakes and rivers can be just as breathtaking. Absolutely.

I also wanted to commend you on what a great job on the light across the dunes.
