Yellow Sky Evening

Oil on board, 6" x 6"
$125.00 + $6.00 shipping in US.

Spent all day yesterday in the studio with my head buried in a painting. When I finally surfaced late in the day, I walked outside to see this incredible sky looming over the little barn. I couldn't resist giving it a try in paint.

Ahhh... the red barn. I love that barn and how it looks so great in every one of your paintings. This one is fabulous with those clouds in the sky. One feels the threat of "weather" in every brushstroke. Beeeeautiful, Don!

I am going up to Washington's Skagit Valley to see tulips on a cloudy day, with sunbreaks I hope. Your beautiful painting reminds me that there will be some precious old barns there. Thank-you for this warm representation.

Thanks a lot, Joanne. I've grown attached to this view of the barn, since it's what I first see when I walk out. It is interesting to me to depict it in different lights. Hope that doesn't get boring for others.
