Don, I've been following your blog for awhile now. First time posting a comment. This latest run of paintings are really captivating. At first I thought they were a bit creepy, (still do). But now, I look forward to seeing what you'll post next. Their not your everyday figures, that’s for sure. Very interesting, keep up the good work.

Thanks for weighing in Rick. Yes there is a certain strangeness about these figures, and admittedly it is a quality I'm seeking. At the core of it for me is the poignance of life itself. The old photos are reminders that we are all apparitions--a coalescing of atoms that, after a few heartbeats, will exist in this world only in memory, or in a pattern of chemicals on a scrap of photopaper.
