| We are having the most beautiful Indian summer; crisp, sunny mornings melting into shirtsleeve afternoons. Yesterday I drove up Catherine Creek to see the fall color.
There is such serenity in a slow moving stream reflecting an autumn sky--deep blues mingling with shimmering russets, greens and golds; sunbathed leaves of cottonwood and willow flickering in the breeze. A perfect stress reliever--something we all can use about now, right? | |

This is so beautiful....a perfect stress reliever, which I can really use right now. Your colors are wonderful. I have been frustrated in portraying this subject in watercolor because when I want brighter, the values turn darker. Barb

Thanks, Barb. Yes, I know what you mean about the values growing darker--it can be challenging with watercolor to retain light values in bright color.

You really captured the color and light of this Autumn. We went to Starkey, Granite, Sumpter and Baker in a loop and this painting perfectly captures the essence of what I saw. Lovely.

Great idea Don using the rock as a focal point to divide the frame and guide the viewer's wandering eye. Very nice use of color.. and I don't mean "grandmother" nice.
