Disguise

Oil on board, 12" x 12"
NFS

Each October our regional arts council holds a fundraising masquerade ball. I was one of six artists asked to create a mask to auction off for the cause. I agreed, then thought "What was I thinking? I'm a 2-D guy--in college I couldn't even throw a piece of pottery that didn't end up being a twelve pound ashtray!"

My solution was to cop out a little, stay in my comfort zone and do a slightly modified self-portrait, holding my mask.

You can see the great masks created by the other artists at www.artseast.org.

Now I know why "the boy cried wolf!" Or was it the girl in this case? LOL Pretty good, I must say.

Oh, Don, you rascal! "How does he do it?" Maureen says, "He even has the eyebrows down and that sparkle in his eyes." Yeah - I know that sparkle that means he's up to something.

Missing the world's greatest neighbors, but glad we get to keep track of you on your blog.
