Afternoon, Torrey Pines

Acrylic on board, 6" x 6"
$125 plus $6 shipping in U.S.
SOLD

What do you think, is it time for a surf n' sun change of pace today? I crawled into the "virtual RV" and drove south--way south--to one of my favorite places, Torrey Pines State Reserve near San Diego. Poised high above the blue Pacific, sloping ridges of native chaparral cut with deeply eroded sandstone canyons offer up stunning vistas.

Any day is the right day for an inviting sun and surf painting as this Don. I think this painting tricked my weather in Arkansas, the sun is actually shining here aaaaahhhhh Beautiful warm feeling thank you!

Hi Lu,

I've not seen it in full bloom as you describe--it must be incredible.

I hope those were tears of joy. :)

The lighting is terrific in this piece! I've been enjoying all your wonderful winter scenes, you make me miss the snow...
Funny, I was just at Torrey Pines Glliderport and almost jumped off the cliff, with my family, including my 80 year old mother-in-law, but the winds weren't strong enough! Darn! Maybe next year...

Thanks Cheryl for your kind words--welcome to the blog.

Wow, you're obviously the adventurous sort. I just paint the cliffs, I don't jump off them!

I spent a week very close to Torrey Pines some years back. It was a beautiful place.

Ooooh I want to be there, basking in that warm sun like one of the bumps on that log. Lovely!
