No daily for today, but here's a recent commissioned painting. Don't these folks have a beautiful setting for their home? Click image for a larger view.
We're having a heat spell. I worked on the mural in the studio today until mid-afternoon, when the cross-ventilation windows and fan failed to do the trick. I was refining what was laid in quickly yesterday, so changes are too subtle to be worth posting a progress shot. More later.

Holy cow, this is stunning! Absolutely beautiful--lucky them for the view, and the painting!
Don,
Such a peaceful scene...really beautiful!
Nobody can lay out a beautiful outdoorsy/landscape "family portrait" like you Don! Wow you just have the perfect touch and grasp of things!
Liz, you're a terrific painter. Thank you for those kind words--it means a lot.
Jean, thanks--nice to hear from you.
You're a generous soul, Erika--thank you!
Yes, they do have a beautiful setting for their home and you have captured it perfectly! What a wonderful piece. They should be thrilled!

Such a wonderful piece I just love all the green.
Don how did you arrive at this composition? I just love the layout which I find myself weak at doing.
Simply beautiful! What a masterpiece.
Thank you, Jody--I think they are happy with it, which is always a relief with commissioned work.
Well, Erika, since this was to be a portrait of their home, it had to be pretty much what the place looks like. I took a few small liberties, like moving the trees on the left slightly for better balance, but it was more a question of cropping and of trying to sense when the design "felt" right.
Thanks, Wodjo, and welcome!
Wow, thanks, Bill for that high praise. Undeserved, but hey, I'll take it!
