One of the somewhat larger paintings I've been working on recently. This humble little farm shed began life as a chicken coop, then was later converted by my father-in-law to a shop. On certain mornings, when the light catches it just right, it glows as if made of gold.

Stunning, Don!
The colors you captured here are amazing! It seems your humble little shed had something to offer to everyone...
Great job,Don! When you finished it must of been one of those moments that you said "Yes, I got it".
I get the feeling that the Raven thinks he's in charge, or perhaps he's trying to figure out a way to snag that golden light.
I saw your image on Erika Nelson's blogroll and came over for a peek.
Love the warmth and the depth in this painting, Don.
You have an incredible way of capturing the light which seems especially fleeting in the early morning and early evening hours. May I ask if you began this painting with a burnt umber underlay?
Perhaps you're channeling your inner muralist, as your luminous smaller works transcend the limits of the canvas. Amazing.
What a beautiful way to start the morning! Never mind that it's a day later...
man spürt das Licht, die Wärme kommen.
Viele Grüße Werner
it is wonderful, that light just pulls you in!
So perfect!!
So beautifully depicted on canvas Don I love it!
Love how you've caught that morning glow Don - and the birds become braver, the hungrier they get!
This is beautiful!! You really captured the light. I love it!
Thanks, David!
Susan--kind of you to say--thank you.
Much appreciated, Steve. I may think I've got it, but I usually forget where I put it! :^}
Alice, I'm glad you came by--welcome. Thanks for this thoughtful impression of my painting. Your art is very expressive.
Hi Marilyn--thanks for your encouraging comments. To answer your question: I washed on an acrylic underpainting that was a mix of raw sienna, cad yellow and white. It seemed to help me retain luminosity in those sunlit areas.
Thank you, Sam--I appreciate your words.
Willkommen, Werner-danke.
Rahina--thank you!

The glowing sunlight cast near the middle of the painting is stunning!
Great control by you!

Hi Dean--I'm glad you feel the painting catches that, thanks. I decided to add the crow
to boost the contrast and, hopefully, the glow I was after.
Great job representing that quality of light.
Hi Jala--thanks a lot. I enjoy visiting your blog.
