From Lanai to Lanai

All you ol' Hawaiians know that a porch or patio is called a "lanai" in the islands. This was the view from our 5th floor lanai in West Maui, looking across to the island of Lanai. We were high enough up to easily spot lots of Humpback whales. Sometimes they breached clear out of the water--an awesome sight.

WHAT"S IT ALL ABOUT?

Welcome to my daily painting blog.
Here's the deal: most everyday I trek out into the wilds of the woods, or maybe the wilds of my studio to complete a new small painting, usually oil on gessoed hardboard, 5 x 7 or 6 x 6 inches in size. Then I take a picture of it, close my eyes, cross my fingers and push the button that posts it on this blog, floating out into the virtual world.
