Driftwood Shore

For some reason a lot of driftwood ends up on Rockaway Beach. It's a lesson in the awesome power of the sea. Massive logs are tossed ashore in winter storms as if they were twigs. They pile up in jutting angles like some absurdly oversized game of pick up sticks.

very nice Don. Enjoyed your recent posts especially the one Tin Roofs. Looks like the area from Union to Baker country. My sister lives in Union, Kathy Myron. was out there a few weeks ago and checked out your country. It is a great area and there are certainly a lot of painting opportunities there.

We were at Rockaway 3 years ago this month. I love all the Oregon beaches, but Rockaway is so IN YOUR FACE! This painting shows how Nature plays pick-up-stix there. Great!

Hi Sam. We'd never stopped at Rockaway before--we really enjoyed it. Thanks for the note.
