The Green Tree

Acrylic on board, 5" x 7"
$125 plus $6 shipping in U.S.
SOLD

On a walk in the foothills with Winslow I was startled to see this green tree, luminous in the late afternoon light. The color was made all the more intense by the autumn reds of the surrounding brush.

On closer inspection it turned out to be a lone apple tree. Usually that's the marker of an old homestead, but I didn't see any signs that buildings had ever stood nearby. Maybe Johnny Appleseed was here.

Perhaps a bat fly-by?

Great sun and shadows! Your composition is very interesting and don't you find the colors of the season help create a strong impact? Your punched oranges are balanced well with the gray foreground. Very nice.

This is wonderful Don! I love the warm colors of autumn! The beautiful reds on the surrounding bushes really make the lovely green just "pop" on the apple tree! Autumn delight!

I guess it's more likely a bat or bird than Johnny Appleseed...way to burst my bubble, Susan! :^)

Thanks for your kind comments.
