Winslow spends each day in the studio with me. I tend to get focused on painting and forget all about him for long stretches, but whenever I glance his way, he is invariably watching me--waiting for any break in the routine that can relieve his boredom.
The highlight of Winslow's day is lunchtime. He knows I'll share some of the day's fare--an indulgence he's never allowed at home. As I walk to the kitchen, Winslow rushes ahead and looks back, urging me on. While lunch is being prepared he can hardly contain his excitement--running down the hall, then back to peer impatiently through the open door. At long last I carry the plate to the studio and Winslow hustles to take up his post by the table.

you have sensitively protrayed Winslow in this painting as you did in sun-catcher... a mutual respect seems to exist between dog and master
Thank you for sharing Winslow with us.It did my heart good to read about his lunch time antics and see his wonderful portrait.
Your love for Winslow glows in your rendition of him. You really put this for sale???
wow. Rahina expressed it wonderfully, what a lovely painting Don. We look forward to the Winslow book with great anticipation.
: )
Nice work, Don. Very sculptural and stately.
What a handsome little man! You are lucky to have such a wonderful companion!
Such a beautiful little painting. Hope that Winslow gets some Thanksgiving specials tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Thank you, Rahina, I appreciate your comments. Yes, Winslow won our hearts pretty fast
Hi Tanner! Thanks for those kind words...Happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you, Susan. Well, no doubt you know how it is--I never get too attached to my paintings because they always fall short of my hopes for them. And I don't need the painting to remind me of the experience, because I carry that within.
Thanks so much, Marilyn. A Winslow book...now that might be fun. :)
Much appreciated, Don--thanks for coming by.
That's sure true, Deborah. Thanks for the visit.
Hi Shirley, and thank you. I'm sure Winslow will make out fine. Happy Thanksgiving to you and family as well.
Garrett and I are always glad to see Winslow. Mr.G would love to root around in some tall grass with another short-of-leg.
I'm sure Winnie and Mr. G would have a grand time, Sam.
