How 'bout them Packers?!

I must admit, I hardly follow football at all. In fact, this was the first game I've watched clear through all season. But it was the Super Bowl, after all...and it's the law.

The bed on this farmer's dump truck really stood out. I'm fairly pleased with today's painting--feel it catches something of the truth of this austere but beautiful time of year.

This is great, Don! I would find that red-bedded truck irresistible to paint as well - it really doesportray the mood and feeling of winter here.

Another thing I really enjoy about your blog and art is how easily you move between media and realism vs. more abstracted, intuitive pieces.

Thanks a lot, Sonya--glad you feel the painting catches some of that winter spirit.

Glad too that you enjoy my stylistic shifts from realist to contemporary. I know it is disconcerting to some, but I have worked both ways for many years and feel it is important to share the process on my blog.
