A hardy group of workshoppers braved temperatures near zero to show up at my studio over the weekend. They worked diligently from still life setups as well as from their own reference, coming up with some starlingly good work in a very short time. I had fun, hope they did too.

Today I took a leftover apple and a magnifying glass from the pile of still life stuff and did this quirky little painting.

Sherlock Holmes inspects evidence from the Garden of Eden crime scene... Oh wait, shouldn't there have been a bite out of the apple? :)

Elementary, Lockinvarwelsh. The perpetrator turned the bite side toward the wall in a clever attempt to disguise the crime.
