Leaf 1

Cold wax encaustic on board, 6" x 6"
$125 plus $6 shipping in U.S.
SOLD

Cottonwood leaves have graceful Valentine heart shapes. I always collect a few leaves in fall and take them to the studio. I'd like to do a group of leaf paintings, hence the optimistic "1" in the title. I'm easily distracted, so we'll see.

Lovely moments of fall, Don. Like mine, the leaf's heart is broken just a little bit by another season's end.
Beautiful moving abstraction and stereo wind on the vid.

Lovely. I always have time for a Don Gray moment. Might have to steal this idea photographically speaking. Will post you when I do.

I can't wait to see more of these, Don. You've painted a lovely, arresting image with this delicate object.

The yellow and gray look so nice together. Delving into all the little details of this leaf must have been quite a zen undertaking! Looking forward to the rest of the series!

The generous texture of your creamy ground is as lush as the color and detail in your leaf...more please.

Winslow was priceless.

Thanks, Sarah. I can see you've moved on seasonally, with your beautiful Christmas ornament paintings. Me...stuck in the past--just can't leave the leaves yet!

Thank you, Marilyn. I do like the way the wax helps build that kind of texture.
