Nice series Don. I see you got your head around the encaustic thingy. Maybe the nearest thing to it in texture and vibrancy is oil pastels (a mix of wax, oil and pigment). I really enjoy the darkness of the leaves against that textured background. And yes, every leaf is absolutely unique. They are in fact asymmetrical and yet another confirmation that we live in a complex world rather than a systematic one.. must go..I am hearing myself..

i kinda knew this series was going to be special... they seem to be more than leaves... more like microcosms of our lives too...

Rahina that's great that you sense the leaves being more than just leaves. That's why we paint, isn't it?--to move us somehow.
Thanks, Sheila--I'm always delighted to hear from you. I'm enjoying your recent work.
This is so nice. I have wanted to try some encaustic, but with my style art. Hopefully soon.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks FG&B, and welcome to my site. I enjoyed seeing your blog and "carny" art and jewelry--great fun.
