Oh so lovely, Don! I was raised in Ohio and I miss the autumn color. Actually we have more color in Texas now than in the last couple of years. With the added rainfall this season our pastures are still green and the wild flowers are going crazy! Thanks for sharing.
I've tried hot wax encaustic. I loved the matte depth of it but found it incredibly hard to control. This looks grand. Did you just add a wax based medium to your oil?

Hi Marilyn--thanks! I know what you mean about missing autumn color--I missed it when we lived in southern California.

Hi Shirley--yes, this is Gamblin's cold wax medium mixed with my oils. Then I just paint as usual--no burning in of the wax involved.
