This will probably be the last of the cherry paintings for this year. The nearby little orchard town of Cove held its annual Cherry Festival Saturday. The festival is a lot of fun--an old fashioned home-spun family event that kind of marks the end of the cherry season in the valley.

We didn't make it to Cove this year--we spent the day in the mountains hunting the elusive huckleberry. We found very few, but enough to make a delicious syrup to spread over our French toast this morning...yum!

Hi Anne--thank you!

I love the casualness of this small scene, as though you piled up the cherries in the basket for some other reason than for a still life, then turned around and realized how lovely it was. Beautiful.

this is such a simple painting that emphasises and reminds us that simple things in life are what all that matters....sandeep
