Yeah, and no matter who they are, they all get green doorknobs. Maintenance is a big issue for the haoles, while these sweet little houses just nestle further into the ground, happy to be subsumed by the jungle funk.

I loved the way you described these houses nestling into the ground.
I've just realised, this reminds me of the taxi drivers house in Addis! The same type of structure isn't it although this is more hidden in foliage. A really nice painting this one Don.
