wow! another beautiful drawing of suncatcher. just wondering Don why you felt the need to do several drawings/studies of Winslow as i now you have done paintings of him before?
Your sunbeams pop Winslow right off the bristol! In essense with Susan's comment, another reason I so enjoy drawing dogs, they are the only life models who will lovingly remind you and prompt you as if to say, "ok, enough drawing, time to play!"
Thanks, Rahina. I probably shouldn't have called these "studies" for a painting. I don't often do pre-studies anymore, though I used to do a lot. I have a painting in mind that I just haven't got to yet, and in the meanwhile I got interested in these drawings. A long way of saying I follow my whims of the moment a lot.

If you could only make his tail wag, it almost is. Beautiful drawing, beautiful Winslow. I am really enjoying these drawings.

Seems like he's thinking, "Are you still doing your art? When are you going to have time to play with me instead???"

What a beautiful drawing! I can see lots of love was put into it.
Sweet drawing...maybe even bittersweet with the long shadows. A gentle reminder perhaps that these wonderful animals don't live as long as we do.
Hi Katherine, I do appreciate your comments. Have a great day in the studio!

That is probably exactly what he's thinking, Susan! Thanks for the note.
So true, Marilyn. Thanks for the kind words. Your animal drawings have great spirit.
Thank you, Debbie. I enjoyed seeing your fine work.
Thanks for that perceptive comment, Lochinvarwelsh. The lifespan thing is so poignant, always in the back of the mind of a pet owner.
Don,these three drawings are outstanding- they communicate a lot.
Wonderful.
Don!
Am I the only one who thinks Winslow looks like he's about to do something naughty?
-Dean
Pierre--your thoughts mean a great deal--thanks!
Hi M and thanks a lot.
Dean! You're right...he does! Winslow does find ways to make mischief. Did I tell you about the time he chewed up one of my paintings?
This is incredible - just grabs the heart!
Thanks a lot, Claire!
