Plein Air at Villa Catalana

This is not one of my paintings, but a photograph of Villa Catalana Cellars, a winery in beautiful countryside near Oregon City. They are hosting an Art in the Garden party this coming Saturday afternoon, August 23rd. There will be a number of plein air painters there, and I will be one of them! If you'll be in the area I hope you make plans to come. There'll be food, wine, jazz and art--what else could you want?

Have a great time Don - it looks just like the South of France!

Thanks, Sheila. Most of the American wineries have "borrowed" the architecture of Europe. I guess it's a way of trying to link themselves to that cultural heritage. It seems a bit misplaced to me. It is, however, admittedly charming. As the saying goes, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
