| Around these parts in winter the joke is that if we had a still day we'd all fall over, since we're so used to leaning into the wind. |
I walked outside the other evening to the most beautiful stillness, perfectly clear and cold. The sun's shadow swept across the valley floor, then crept quietly up the eastern slopes.
This painting speaks to my heart...you have captured the beauty and peace of the scene perfectly. The contrast of the red barn and the white snow is very appealing - as you know. Thank you once again for beauty on canvas.
Me again...correction - beauty on paper! :-)
Don, Another beautiful painting and thanks for sharing. Having spent some time out West, your comments make it so real and vivid. Beautiful series!
Don, these remind me of my child home in Polson, Montana. Really beautiful.
Joanne, thank you so much for your very kind and encouraging comment.
Masterful painter that you are, Stephen, your comments mean a great deal to me. I love following your dailies.

So beautiful and peaceful, Don you have certainly captured the stillness of the place.
you have captured the crispness of the air and stillness perfectly. lovely restrained color harmony. Its winter in the West!
Great feel on this one. My latest watercolor is almost opposite, still and hot.
Hi Deborah--thanks a lot!
Thanks for stopping by, Chris.
I'm really enjoying the mood and the light of these paintings. Especially the moo'd of the cows.
"Moo'd of the cows"...I love it :) Thanks, Suzanne!
