We've had fun walking the dogs in different neighborhoods here in Portland, just to get better acquainted with the city.  There are some lovely old homes, with lush trees, plants and flowers.  This classic, with its thick blanket of poppies, caught my eye.

Our new grandson, Grayson, is doing great--a very serene little guy.  We took him to The Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Grandma Brenda's birthday tonight, and he slept through the whole thing!

Love the rich, vibrant colors in this painting, Don! Probably a fun contrast to paint vs. all these summer greens we have.

Kudos to whomever painted their cheerful house in Portland like this, and same to you for painting it.

Told you Grayson would be getting all the zzzs.

Such wonderful saturated colors... just what babies (and grown-ups) love. It vibrants with summer and good cheer.

Thanks, Sam. I'm with you about this house's lively paint job--it's nice to walk through houses that are individuals, not cookie-cutter. And you're right about the sleep thing. :^)

Really nice of you to say that, Egretta--thank you!

Thanks, Shirley. I guess the cheerfulness is a reflection of this grandpa's good mood.

I appreciate that, Erika. CA Poppies seem to grow very well here, along with most anything else.

Yeah, the Cheesecake Factory was great. We used to go to one in San Diego when we lived down there--positively decadent!
